Ulterra’s “In the Ground” Effort Raises Awareness for Childhood Cancer in Canada

According to Childhood Cancer Canada (CCC), more than 10 thousand children in Canada are battling cancer. Charity Intelligence Canada states that CCC reported the overall childhood cancer research community reduced childhood cancer mortality by 25% in the past decade, with the help of their contribution to research.

A Continued Partnership

Since 2017, Ulterra has partnered with Childhood Cancer Canada in its effort to create victories for children in Canada battling cancer. During a month-long campaign throughout the month of September, Ulterra continues to paint their teal bits, purple. The campaign includes both Ulterra and CCC and invites Ulterra customers in Canada to be involved in their effort to help raise awareness for childhood cancer. The choice of partnering with CCC was an easy decision – allowing Ulterra to impact young Canadians battling cancer in a unique way.

In September 2018, Ulterra’s team in Calgary helped lead the charge of an “in the ground” effort. In total, Ulterra’s customers drilled over 200 thousand meters utilizing purple drill bits, drilling roughly 20 meters for every child battling cancer. With the help of several companies, drilling in Canada during the month of September represents the fight of children battling cancer across Canada.

This year, Ulterra will continue their campaign to help make a brighter future for every child diagnosed with cancer. Ulterra’s goal is to help raise awareness during September by taking action, sending a clear message, standing together with the CCC, and encouraging customers and employees to be a part of this initiative.

Recently, Childhood Cancer Canada and Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation announced their plan to create a unified foundation to extend their effort toward more positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adults fighting cancer in Canada.
