Maria Mejia Recognized as a Women in Business Honoree by the Dallas Business Journal

25 August 2023

Congratulations to Ulterra’s Executive Vice President, Maria Mejia, for being recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as a Women in Business Honoree

The Dallas Business Journal’s Women in Business program highlights decision makers across the metroplex that have shaped the North Texas business community and their associated industry.

In Fort Worth, Texas, Maria Mejia has been responsible for guiding Ulterra’s financial trajectory, influencing culture, and promoting a growth mindset for all employees. Throughout Maria’s career, she has been an exemplary leader and mentor.

Since the beginning, Maria has been eager to learn and fight for a seat at the table. Early on, she attended every meeting where there was an opportunity to learn and took the initiative to involve herself in different projects within the company. Starting as an accounting manager, Maria quickly earned various other positions, including corporate controller and vice president of finance. In 2016, she assumed the dual role of senior vice president and CFO. After Patterson-UTI’s acquisition of Ulterra, Maria now serves as Ulterra’s executive vice president.

Under Maria’s leadership, Ulterra has experienced tremendous financial growth. From 2010 to 2018, Ulterra’s revenue effectively tripled. By the end of last year, revenue increased more than 20%. Looking ahead, Ulterra is projecting a further rise in annual revenue, with expectations set at double digit growth for the upcoming year.

Beyond her career, Maria is an advocate for pursuing passions outside of work. When she isn’t navigating Ulterra’s C-suite, she enjoys fitness, spending time with family, and racing Porsches.
